It's been a very busy year for us so far. In April we extended our vineyards and planted 6,000 new grapevines. We now have Norton, Riesling and Catwaba grapes. We planted blackberries in addition to our 3-year-old Concord vineyards. The first week in May the buds started breaking and it's been nonstop caring for vines from disease and insects preparing for harvest.
And, speaking of harvest, here at the Breitenbach Vineyards tomorrow we will be harvesting our very first crop of Valient grapes. They mature earlier than most varieties. Our Concors grapes should be ready within the next couple of weeks and the vines are loaded!
